Lead is a highly toxic metal that poses a significant health risk to humans. Its poisonous effects can result from ingestion, inhalation, or even brief skin contact. Lead interferes with a variety of body processes and is toxic to many organs and tissues.

Workers in the manufacturing process run the risk of lead exposure because of Stanley’s lead use. The factories where Stanleys are created also risk exposing the environment and neighborhoods around them. And if someone decides to dump their Stanley (even if it’s consumer-safe), workers in waste and recycling and those living in towns surrounding those facilities also run the risk of exposure because of the lead pellet — all because of a Stanley they didn’t buy.

Lead contamination poses a severe risk not only to human health but also to the environment, impacting ecosystems and wildlife across the planet. When lead enters the environment, it can persist indefinitely, contaminating soil and water bodies, and entering the food chain.

We never have, and never will use lead in our products. The risk to customers, workers and the planet is much too great to use lead in any product.
